Zebra Dane?

It's final! The release date for the first Hunger Games movie is March 23 next year, according to Lionsgate. Prior to post-production issues, though, casting is still undergoing but we are getting nearer to unveiling the silver screen persona of Katniss Everdeen. Recently, it has been announced that Debra Zane will be the casting director for the Hunger Games film.

Debra Zane

She won't be doing the usual cattle call of having hopefuls enter a room, read the script and have their hearts broken. Instead, Ms. Zane will be professionally looking out for actors ranging from the theater to the movies (relatively unknown actors haven't been counted out). No actors have auditioned yet though, so far.

What's in Ms. Zane's resume? She has worked as the casting director for 67 films and is considered a Hollywood veteran. Among the notable movies in her shoes are: the Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn, Ocean's Thirteen, Dreamgirls, Stuart Little and Men in Black. She has also won three Artios awards for American Beauty, Traffic and Dreamgirls and was named Casting Director of the Year in 2004 by the Hollywood Film Award committee.

She seems promising, if you ask me, but what's your opinion?
