I've been blabbering about this for the past monthh, but I'm off to college in at least three weeks. Three weeks, and the catch? The campus is located in the wonderful municipality of Miag-ao, where the fast food chain population density is practically zero.
Over the span of four years, my stomach has developed this amazing ability to digest great amounts of oil and cholesterol common in fries, burgers and all that turd. En route to my high school, I pass by the local mall, a good number of supermarkets and several fast food restaurants. My friends and I had the privilege to immerse ourselves in monster-sized coke floats, sundaes, chicken fillet sandwiches and everything valued under a hundred pesos but still tasted swell, almost everyday. My life will definitely take a turn for the worse because next month, I won't be enjoying my fair share of unhealthiness anymore-- which should be a good thing, especially to my mother. She is very particular about what I eat because I'm skinny enough to make the mirrors scream for more of me (that didn't make any sense). She always emphasizes the consumption of vegetables; too much, in fact, that she is compelled to grow a vegetable garden in our backyard.
Right now I'm looking for anything saintly that can substitute fast food in my sluggishly improving "healthy" diet. Probably, when I get used to cafeteria food and decide that ordering through telephones is a far call (pun unintended) because of the remote location of the campus, I might post survival tips. I'm willing to help any fast food junkie who is deprived of all the glory of deep-fried goodness.
Speaking of food, I made the cheesecake I've been bragging about two days ago. It looks like I won't have anything to brag about when I take it out from the chiller; I've got that feeling you feel when you keep a loaded wallet in your locker because you have to go to CAT class, but the locker doesn't have a lock so the whole thing has lost its purpose. For the sake of producer satisfaction, though, I'll name the cheesecake Nom.
Meanwhile, as I sit in front of my study desk and not on a McDonald's chair, I shall present unto you a link that will help you pass five minutes of your life without complaining about boredom. I found it in Tumblr, where all I ever do is reblog all the cool stuff (which is basically everything).
LE LINK
Everything's in Tumblr nowadays.

PS. If you have any suggestion as to how I will survive approximately 210 days without fast food (exaggeration placed for more impact), please give a comment below. Thank you.

Omega here!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a bloggy person so I don't know if I'll be here often.
But if you NEED bad food, why can't you cook some yourself? Fries and burgers are easy to make.
Plus, your mom is right, you do need to eat better. So maybe try to find some balance in there for a start.
Nicely written article too. *clap*
Hi Ma'am! So nice to hear from you :-)
ReplyDeleteYes... I'm training my taste buds this summer. Tee hee. And thanks! :-D
