Day 16

She had no reason but ever since she could remember she had always decided not to marry. Sitting in front of her were her parents, enjoying the last few bites of their dinner. It was the eve of their fortieth wedding anniversary and they already well past the age of romance, yet she found them in genuine contentment with each other’s company; they were still using the same endearments that they used twenty years ago. The image of them had not changed: her parents still loved each other and she was still alone on the opposite side of the table.
