The morning session was spent answering a series of career and attitude tests. My batch mates and I have done this before back in high school; I started feeling so nostalgic that I hastened in shading random boxes just to get on with it. At one point I had to answer this question: "Who am I?"
God, I hate it when exams think they know more about you by asking you about yourself only to leave you thinking you don't know yourself when in fact you do and that exam is only making you think you don't. You know?
I've met a number of people who were friendly enough to say hi to me even though I don't exactly know their names. But, hey, when you're a freshman, you get excited by those little things. I can't wait for the sixth of June-- school will officially start and the commencement exercises will be held in the city, so I won't have to travel far. I will be wearing an orange top, in honor of the school org my course is a part of, the Elektrons.

PS. The emcees were adorkable!
i guess im a bit younger than you mia..and i want to be as good as you in writing, someday.. i really admire your fantastic ability in writing..any writing tips? ..hehe! im a big fan of yours..
ReplyDeleteHello! Er, I can only advise you to read A LOT...Seriously. Books can be greater teachers than humans themselves. Write, write and write some more. When people say practice spawns perfection, they really mean it - well, unless what you're doing isn't your calling. Also, having a good friend who shares your passion for writing is a very effective drive booster!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! If you somehow decide to create a blog, I'll be really happy to read it :-)
PS. Read Jessica Zafra. She is the bomb.
actually .. you're the one who inspired me to enter the world of literature..really...maybe because you're just a year older than me..(that makes feel i can also be like you, but less better, perhaps. )
ReplyDeletebefore, i hate to read stories and essays with lots of "10ft.deep" words that i cant fully understand even i have a dictionary in front of me.. but when i chanced to read your entry in "My Favorite Book" writing contest at the Phil. Star newspaper, i discovered the bright side of literature which motivates me to read a lot(like you said) and write.
unfortunately, i'm not blessed with a friend who likes neither writing nor reading.. so you're the only one that serves to be my motivator..so please continue blogging..despite you're upcoming busy sched.(college thing) and you can expect that i'll always be your "fan".
PS. Is UPCAT really difficult to pass?..to be a UP student is one of my biggest dream.
Haha, well, thank you! :-D It all starts with the motivation, so you're on the right track. Oh and while writing it's always better to have a thesaurus with you. You can install one in your computer/laptop.
ReplyDeleteThe UPCAT is, I admit, challenging. The English subtest isn't as hard as the Math and Science ones, though, so if you've been paying attention to grammar classes throughout high school, you'll do fine. As for Math... You have to be a fast solver. There are word problems and items that involve graphs, etc. so if your school conducts reviews, take the time to attend them. Study your biology notes if you still have them and review basic chemistry concepts. :-)
ok..thanks a lot.!:)
