I see lightning flashes and hear thunder. I can smell the softness of the rain (what?); the breeze carries it whenever there is downpour. The sky is gloomy now-- an hour ago it was just as sunny as it is now dark.
And here I am, sitting in front of my freaking laptop, typing away minutes of my life that could have been more productive in terms of calorie-burning.
It's funny how I decided to watch Little Miss Sunshine on a summer day that isn't typically sunlit. I'm actually waiting for the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind download to finish. (What is it with me and sunshine? If there's anything I hate more than roaches it would be the sun. Or the heat it brings, so to speak.)
Needless to say, I had to pause the movie every now and then to get tissue from my room. I initially decided there wouldn't be any brief episodes of grief but I guess crying in every sad movie scene is just embedded in my genes. Probably the manifestation of the trait is stronger in my case, even. Now I'm thinking about beauty contests and everyone's superficiality, including mine. What exactly is the purpose of beauty contests? I'm quite fond of watching them, to be honest, but the amusement I get is just as momentary as the retainment of those contestants' faces in my head. In other words, beauty pageant contestants spend a lot of time, money and effort, but their fame is fleeting. One day, they are the most celebrated people in the country (or on earth, even) and the next, you realize they are just among the general populace.
By the way, I happened to come across this screen cap. No, I am not bashing you here, whoever you are, Sasha. My blog is too wicked for obscenities. I'll let the public ridicule you. After all, I'm just one person. The world holds, well, a lot more.
