Rain, Sand, Vitamin C

I have realized that the amount of happiness I experience during vacation is inversely proportional to the amount of days I have left in it.

A couple of days ago my parents decided to be more outgoing and took us to Boracay. To my sister's dismay, Aklan was drenched in rainwater and Boracay was under a painfully cloudy sky. I'm not a fan of sunlight though, so it was the perfect weather for me to go out. A few years back when I first visited Boracay, a friend and I sailed around the island from ten to twelve noon. I came back looking like a reject from a chocolate factory-- uglier because I hadn't undergone puberty yet-- and I swear, if I were a separate person, I'd never hang out with myself.

I never write about my trips but I'm feeling particularly talkative today (thank you, coffee fix) so here:

Did you know that my mother is more paranoid about health than DOH itself? She brought juice boxes for the trip so we "get the right amount of vitamin C each day." That totally makes up for the supplements I've missed for the past months.

Of course, I was the chaperon for my sister's things. I am not fond of beaches (neither does white sand-that-isn't-exactly-white amuse me) so I ditched getting wet and chose to sit on the shore instead. People-watching. How fun. I can't believe I was forced to watch over inanimate objects.

Eventually I had to give into self-pressure and took a quick dip, which ended up in getting my sinuses clogged with saltwater.

And look who I bumped into! (From left) MJ and Macy, who are currently seniors in Pisay, and I and  my sister, Monique. Pardon the asymmetry I brought to this photo. I am quite short for my age. We rode the banana boat with them too!

I had to hurry home yesterday because my friends kept on texting me about the film festival. The dreadfulness of the movie experience deserves a separate post. Tactless subconscious, we shall meet again after I finish dinner.
