I Just Swiped My V-card

I kid, but here are better news:

Foster the People is coming to Manila this October. Of course I couldn't make it. The first half of October has already been mapped out: long exams, presentations, pre- and post-lab reports, finals. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to spend the night of the 6th without being too emotional. Maturity, maturity.

Ticket sales began last September 13, so if you think you can still cajole your butt into getting those VIP seats you'd better do so now.

Also, I found an interesting Filipino band.

The Camerawalls is an indie pop/alternative rock band based in Manila (everything is based in Manila. How cliched.) and has been around for five years already. Clementine Castro, the vocalist/lead guitarist of the now-disbanded Orange and Lemons, formed the group in 2007. His indepedent label, Lilystars Records, houses other remarkable bands such as Furns and Your Imaginary Friends. Hey, remember those Japanese visual-kei bands? Clementine reminds me of them.

Other members of the band include Law Santiago (bass), Bach Rudica (drums), and George Carillo (guitar). Ian Zafra (guitar / how is he related to our beloved Jessica Zafra?) pitches in during live sessions.

Panem et Circenses - lit. "bread and circuses" or "bread and games" ; satiating the public with what they think they need, when in fact they need more than that. Per Juvenal, a Roman poet, it is a "simplistic motivation" of the general populace. It's awesome how Clementine managed to write a song about this. All hail!

Clementine cites The Smiths as one of his main musical influences. Damn, it shows.

Birthday Wishes won the John Lennon 71st Birthday Songwriting Contest last 2011. Think of it as Imagine but more mature - if that's possible.
