Greeting + Diet trivia

Happy 143rd day of the year! Summer does things to people, and among those is inject an overdose of that corny lovestruck feeling you get when you find out it is a relatively significant day.

Just a quick update: I have two weeks-- two mother firetruckin' weeks-- until the first day of classes. One part of my tiny heart is depressed; still, the other is doing jumping jacks in excitement. In fact, that tiny part of my tiny heart has been foxtrotting for so long now that I gave in and bought a fresh stock of school supplies (sponsored by my ever-supportive brother! Thanks dude!)

While walking around the bookstore pretending to look smart, I found this in one of the self-help shelves:

Jacob, Jacob and Hans Asperger

Currently my insane fixation. Thank you, Vanessa!

Right now I'm reading a book I lent from a friend, Jodi Picoult's House Rules. I'm on page 131 as of now, which is about one-fifth of the book.

On a More Serious Note

I found this video in Tumblr a while ago and I feel like I have to share it with everyone.
My research partner and I did a study on cancer back in high school (it feels sort of weird saying that. I guess I’m not used to being a high school graduate yet). It spanned for two school years—one for conceptualizing the procedures and all, and another for actually doing it.

Imported Nasopharyngitis

As you can see, last week's schedule was fairly crammed with visits to Miag-ao, the municipality where the university I'll be attending is located. It was also filled with reports about the hottest recorded temperature for the year (last April 26). It was a rather stupid idea to go out at around noon time and have ourselves fried but I guess completing requirements is a much more urgent matter.

On Second Thought, I Wanna Get Sick

I was browsing through my Facebook feed minutes ago until I chanced upon one of my friends' status update.
Gusto ko magka Alexandria's genesis!!! (I want to have Alexandria's Genesis!!!)
- which, I heard, might merely be a product of people's wishful thinking, much to everyone's dismay.

Of course I Googled it. I didn't want to be left out of the information network and it seemed pretty interesting for people to say they want a disease.

Long ago, in Egypt, when they still hadn't realized people of lower castes make good slaves, a mysterious, blinding light flashed. This caused the people in the village to develop purple eyes and porcelain skin. They were called spirit people (I applaud their creativity) and they relocated into the northern areas where they disappeared. Then in 1329, England,  a girl named Alexandria Augustine was born with blue eyes that turned purple when she reached her first birthday. She gave birth to four children, all female, who lived for over a hundred years and never got sick.

It's out to get you.

Night-outs in my Head

Right now, I'm MSG-ing out because Drew Roy didn't get the part of Gale so I'm focusing all the negative energy into recalling this morning's dream, which is probably one of the most infuriating dreams I have ever had.

Hot Doctor and Rolls of Tissue

You're staring at a limitless blue sky with your back on the ground because you fell down. But isn't it wonderful that, despite your lack of balance, you can still see beauty?

Worse things could have happened, yet you're still alive, right?

Cough. Catch breath. Wheeze. Grasp for air. Knock out!

...Such is the way of an asthmatic.

I am among the unfortunate minority of grieving Homo sapiens who have the condition called asthma. It's not a foreign term, I know, but most unaffected people don't have any idea how hard coping with asthma is.

And this isn't even a rant, dammit.
